Guardian article about the phenomenal resurrection of the now pervasive 'Keep Calm And Carry On' posters…

guardian.co.uk: Keep Calm and Carry On: Jon Henley on the poster we can't stop buying

Never really understood the 'no petting' in the swimming pool as a kid. Always puzzled me.

    Bless.

Shouldn't Diocalm or some other diarrhoea medication supplier have taken advantage of this yet?

Blimey, just actually read the article -- I remember seeing it in Barter books all the time -- didn't realise it was actually the one that kicked it all off! I figured there were loads everywhere...

Can someone make one that says:

BE CREATIVE and STOP COPYING THIS SHIT IDEA

  12.
    Time of the month Jord?
  13.

    I just don't get it.

It's not funny, it's not clever, it's not imaginative, it's not well executed, it doesn't hark back to halcyon days of innocence and tranquility (or exciting days of danger and adventure). It's a big load of 'meh', wrapped up in a ball of dull, encased in a shield of medicority and dumped in a lake of boring.

  14.
I still prefer the original. Largely on the grounds that it suggests people are likely to do what they're told if it's written in capitals on a red poster.

    Which they will.
  15.

I hereby command someone with some artistic talent to create an amusing homage featuring the following words:

    SHUT UP

    AND

    BINGE DRINK

  16.

    good idea.

    @ 4pm today I shall have a bash.

  17.

    Or:

    DON'T THINK

    JUST

    HAVE A DRINK

  18.
    HAVE A DRINK

    HAVE A DRIVE

GO OUT AND SEE WHAT YOU CAN FIND

The irony weighs heavy on me.
