Jord - I thought exactly the same thing about LMS when I watched it last week. The full-on sentiment-shite was so contrived... I thought it was trying to be a bit napoleon dynamite-ish as well, with the type of shots and stuff. It got rave reviews everywhere, so I expected it to be really good.
  2.
With Jord and Aaron on Little Miss Sunshine. Tried too hard to be quirky but ended up just being contrived and shit. Although maybe I just didn't 'get it'

Having said this, every movie should have a grandfather who's addicted to narcotics (see Broken Vessels, Little Miss Sunshine, etc)
  3.
I liked Little Miss Sunshine. I also enjoyed A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, which I watched last night.
  4.
    The Astronaut Farmer - Rubbish
    Zodiac - Great
    The Number 23 - Awful
    Mr Brooks - Fantastic
  5.
    number 23 = absolute bag o shite
  6.
    "Mr Brooks - Fantastic"

are you having a laugh? it was pish, total pish.

nothing i hate more than films that think they are clever but are in fact just shite.

    zodiac was decent though.
  7.

Films watched, half watched, going to watch...

    Jindabyne - Fell asleep...

Cashback - Remember the post on here a month or so back? I finally got the full version, watching it tonight-cant wait!!!!

Hostel 2 - Gruesome as fuck scene with the girl upside down, but otherwise, i thought this was pretty good.

1-08-08 - Or slusho or whatever its being called...started and was over before I could make head nor tail of what was going on...as a trailer-would I be going "must see that"....would I fuck.

    Not watched:

Exorcism of Emily Rose, Lives of Others, Turistas, Number 23 - Oh dear, sounds shit according to the above posts, Hard Candy - Sounds well dodgy, but am told its really good, Old Boy - Can't imagine I'll go on a killing spree, House of Sand and Fog - Has Jennifer Connelly in it, rararrararrrrr......

    update---

cashback-great film, thoroughly 'english' but given the version we watched, it translates to other languages. Bra=good. (swedish). I rest my case.

    Zoe out of Eastenders-urggh, weird.

  9.
Transformers is the best film ever it turns out. I'll fight anyone who disagrees.
  10.
    i've got your back jim.
  11.
    good man.
  12.
Been on a bit of a Steve Martin binge recently and watched Planes Trains and Automobiles and The Jerk. Outstanding stuff, as good as I remembered them.
  13.
the chicks are loving the transformers too, girl from work went to see it last night and is all hype about it the day...

Mr Martin is a legend indeed.

Agreed. It's a terrible shame he's become such a cringeworthingly unfunny cunt recently though. If I ever see 'Steve Martin and Queen Latifah in...' ever again I'll see it as a sign of the death of civilisation.

The Main With Two Brains for the win.

Steve: "Merve Griffin! You're the elevator killer? But WHY?"
Merve: "I don't know. I just REALLY like killing people. I can't explain it. I've always just REALLY enjoyed it."
  16.
    "I couldn't fuck a gorilla"
  17.
    Die Hard 4.0.
Disengage yer brain for a couple of hours and and enjoy it. I did.
  18.
    Bourne Ultimatum.

Best film I've seen in a very, very long time. As action movies go, this is about the pinnacle.
  19.
I've enjoyed them so far (Bourne films) though I had to overcome the 'different from the book' problem.
  20.

Watched Hollywoodland the other night. Good film, well acted and an intriguing story well told. The only real downside was the ending, I got the feeling they shot several endings and couldn't decide which one to use, so they put them all in there.
